Then I add softness on top, so the style still moves in photos.

What about veils and makeup on the beach?
A long veil looks beautiful when it catches the wind, but it also pulls on the hair. I anchor it with a comb and hidden pins so it can fly without taking the style with it, and you can remove it easily after the portraits. For makeup, I keep the skin luminous but well set, choose waterproof mascara and avoid very glossy lips that catch loose strands of hair. Soft daylight by the water is flattering, so a natural, glowing look tends to photograph best.
