Ballerup is the kind of place where a wedding morning often happens in a family house with a kitchen full of people, a garden outside and a driveway where the cars can wait. When the whole bridal party wants to be styled, that space is a gift, and my job is to turn it into a calm, well-organised morning.
How do you get a large bridal party ready on time?
With a written running order, agreed in advance. Before the day I ask who will be styled, what each person wants and when the ceremony starts. Then I work backwards: the bride is placed late in the schedule so her makeup is freshest for the photos, while bridesmaids and mothers are spread across the earlier part of the morning. Everyone knows their slot, so nobody sits waiting in a robe wondering when it is their turn.
If the group is big, I may suggest bringing in extra time or starting earlier. Early-morning starts are arranged on request, and I will always tell you honestly if the plan needs more room.
Which room in the house works best?
Suburban homes in Ballerup usually have one room with good daylight, often a living room or a bedroom facing the garden. I set up next to the biggest window, with a chair at normal height and a table for my kit. A second spot for hair is helpful when the group is large, so curls can cool while the next face is prepped. Keep the dress, shoes and jewellery in a separate room so they stay safe from powder and hairspray.
What should each person prepare?
- Clean, moisturised skin and no heavy products on the morning.
- Hair washed the day before, unless we agreed otherwise for your style.
- A button-up shirt, so nothing has to be pulled over finished hair.
- Photos of looks you like, shared before the day.
