Køge is one of those market towns where you can still read the centuries in the streets. Crooked timber-framed houses lean over cobbles, the square, Torvet, opens up at the heart of the old town, and a short walk takes you to the harbour and the long beaches of Køge Bay. It is a lovely mix of small-town charm and sea air, and I am happy to bring my kit to you here.
Old town or seaside: how do I adapt your look?
The two moods of Køge ask for slightly different choices. Among the half-timbered houses, warm brick and painted beams flatter soft, romantic styling: a rosy flush, brushed brows and loose curls or a gently textured low bun. On the beach the palette shifts to sky, sand and water, and a clean, dewy finish with a little bronze suits it beautifully. Many couples do both, so I build a look that bridges them and can be refreshed between locations.
What should I keep in mind for photos around Torvet and the harbour?
Cobblestones are charming and unforgiving, so bring a pair of flat shoes for walking and swap before the portraits. By the harbour and the bay, the wind can pick up quickly; I secure hair with hidden pins and suggest styles that look intentional even when a strand escapes. Summer evenings near the water have soft, golden light that is wonderful for portraits, while midday sun is sharper, which is why I keep the base thin and blend carefully. My guide to a summer wedding on Zealand has more seasonal tips.
Where can we get ready?
I come to you wherever you are staying in or around Køge: a family house, a summer house near the bay, an apartment in town, a hotel or the venue itself. I arrive a few hours before the ceremony with everything I need, and bridesmaids or mothers can be styled right after you, so the whole group is ready on time. Parking near your location is worth checking in advance, especially on market days or busy summer weekends.
How do I book Køge?
Just send me a message on WhatsApp or an email with your date, ceremony time and the number of people. You will find bride and guest prices on my packages page; trials, early-morning starts and travel outside Copenhagen are on request. I reply in English or Danish, and the Zealand area page shows the other towns I cover.
