Holbæk sits right on the water, where Holbæk Fjord opens towards Isefjord. With boats in the harbour and the fjord never far from view, it is a beautiful town for a wedding with a little sea air in it, and I come to wherever you are getting ready.
Why does a harbour town shape the look?
Water changes the light. On a clear day the fjord bounces brightness back up into faces, which flatters luminous skin but shows heavy foundation quickly. That is why I keep the base thin and build glow only where light naturally lands: cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the inner corner of the eyes. Lips and lashes carry a little more definition, so you still look like yourself from across the quay as well as up close.
What should I prepare if it is windy by the water?
A breeze off the fjord is almost part of the scenery here. A few choices make it work in your favour:
- Tell me early if you plan photos along the harbour, so we can choose a hairstyle with structure.
- Consider a secure low bun, a sleek ponytail or a braided updo rather than long loose waves.
- Let me anchor your veil with a comb and hidden pins, and bring a spare clip in your bag.
- Choose waterproof mascara and a long-wear lip if you tend to tear up in the wind.
If you love soft movement, a half-up style with romantic curls can still work; I simply set it firmly so it survives a gust or two.
Where do Holbæk brides usually get ready?
Anywhere that feels like you: a family home in town, an apartment near the harbour, a summer house along the fjord, or a room at your venue. All I need is a table, a chair, a socket and, ideally, a window. In older buildings, let me know about stairs and parking ahead of time so I can arrive calm and on schedule, a few hours before the ceremony.
How do I reserve the day?
Write to me on WhatsApp or by email with your date and a few words about the look you have in mind. For the bride, Makeup & Hair is €300, or €180 for either Makeup or Hair. Guests are €200 for both and €120 for one. Travel outside Copenhagen, trials and all-day touch-ups are priced on request. Full details are on my packages page, and you can read about other towns I visit on the Zealand area page. For changeable Danish skies, see my guide to wedding makeup for Danish weather.
Local questions

Can you style my veil so it stays put?
Yes, veil, pins and hair accessories are part of my styling, and I secure them with the wind in mind.
